The Commission as a political advertisement: Von der Leyen and HDZ showed that the Commission's new rules do not make sense

While von der Leyen is not allowed to emphasize her current position in the campaign, the same is not true for HDZ which has nothing to prevent it from using the leading person of the European Commission for its campaign, thereby putting other parties in an unfair position. Gong has alerted the Commission and the European Ombudsman to this issue.

Gong called on the Government of the Republic of Croatia to take the necessary steps to improve the position of advocacy organisations.

Gong and 59 organizations to the Council of the EU: Protect journalists against spyware and surveillance in the Media Freedom Act

The latest draft compromise text of the Council of the EU on the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) provides for a "national security" exception to the general ban on deploying spyware against journalists without guarantees for the protection of sources. Gong joined journalists and other civil society organisations in urging Council to reconsider its position.

Gong called on the government to stop ignoring the EU Court ruling and protect citizens

Gong, as an organization that advocates the democratization of the political system and the rule of law, sent an appeal to Minister Davor Filipović, in which we demand respect for the highest court of the European Union.

Research results show that people who believe in conspiracy theories are not inclined to getting vaccinated (again) in the future.

The Vice President of the European Commission highlighted the EU's fight against COVID-19 and Russian disinformation during Gong's international conference.

European perspectives: Fight against disinformation by improving standards in journalism and empowering citizens

The conference concluded that regulation disinformation is not enough; we need to empower media, media literacy and democratic political culture.
