The presidential elections confirmed the importance of social media in election campaigns, and the ways in which they can be used for election manipulation, by pushing a defamation campaign, using fake profiles, and publishing questionable research ahead of election silence.

The analysis showed that Prime Minister Andrej Plenković became one of the most popular politicians, even though he opened his account three weeks before the parliamentary elections, and that the most popular parties were Mozemo and HDZ.
