While just a few years ago we used social networks to chat, like and look at cats, today they threaten the very democratic order and our health - all because of the explosive spread of disinformation. Disinformation has become viral and is at the top of recommended content, which is why all users are exposed to its effect. This is precisely why it is more important than ever for citizens to be able to distinguish reliable from unreliable information, so that as we do not fall under the influence of disinformation and enable its further spread.

In order to encourage the development of citizen media literacy in a disinformation world, we have prepared three useful, short and simple videos, in which we show the importance of media literacy in combating disinformation, an imagined society close to ours in which disinformation have led to unexpectedly serious consequences, and simple and easy steps which you can start applying immediately to distinguish information from disinformation.

Why fake news is so tempting, why it so easily enters and stays in our heads and in what ways we can resist it - find out in our first video!

Doctor Zvonko Bergman is a well-known and respected ophthalmologist, who often appears as a guest on television - this time he was invited to exclusively present his latest book "Blue people are not real". Find out how he came to the realization that blue-eyed people are not humans, but rather aliens, and what we can do as a society to save ourselves from the 'blue menace'. Follow a society not unlike our own, and their informing of the danger of the blue people, as well as the consequences that spreading disinformation and believing in them can have.

The path to media literacy may not be an easy path, but it is certainly a better one to take. Today, when we are faced with an increasing amount of information, it is increasingly important to be able to distinguish reliable from unreliable information - we cannot expect someone to do this work for us, we must be able to evaluate it independently, no matter how difficult it is! This is precisely why we present a short video in which that path is broken down into several clear steps, without which it is sometimes difficult to distinguish reliable from unreliable information.

The more media literate we are, the better we can judge the reliability of information, and to find out how to strengthen your media literacy, see these five simple steps in this video from the Kiwi production!
