ZAGREB, Feb 15 (Hina) - Croatian civil society organisations on Friday asked the Croatian Parliament to conduct more transparent procedures in the appointment of external members to certain parliamentary committees.

Activists from several non-governmental organisations said at a news conference in Zagreb on Friday that the government should conduct a more transparent procedure in the allocation of budgetary funds.

They also criticised the practice in the Croatian parliament (the Sabor) of adopting a large number of laws by urgent procedure. They said that the previous parliament passed 76 percent of its laws by urgent procedure.
